1. contents

here we are discussing which contents we want in our final web-site. Please write general comments here below as well as useful tools you think it would be useful to have in the final web-site, but use the two sub-menus private pages and public pages to provide your ideas about the specific sections you would like to be included/created.

useful tool

In my opinion a sort of wiki for working together on documents/articles would be extremely needed!

To do list:
1. blog for discussion
2. a place where our BIOs are public (with our photo :)
3. shared calendar in order to monitor all the interesting events/confereces/deadlines
4. wiki for collaborative writing

I totally agree

Have you intended 1-3-4 as private, haven't you?

Maybe number 2 can be in "Our team" section

Can we logg out as well?

Date: 18/04/2012 | By: Johanna

Hi,

I have huge personal problem with logg in's and out's, if we can logg in, should we be able to logg out as well, or is it working some other way, that it aren't necessary to logg out?

I just close down the page... I don't think there is a 'log-out' botton
indeed if you relog just after closing the system might 'remember you' but after some ten minutes it generally forgets and have to re-log

First of all - GREAT JOB WADIM, thank YOU!
I think we will need a bit of time to play around with the current tool and come out with better thought suggestions...
One thing that I wanted to mention: I am not sure it is a good idea to keep all our e-mail addresses on the public part of the web... This way we can avoid spam messages and not only ;-))

Webpage background

Being involved in the CoE Intercultual cities programme, I am a bit concerned that the theme of this webpage's background - I..e. urban skyline in black - is very similar to the theme the CoE ICs is using, I.e. urban skyline in colors... I really like the idea to use the multicolored paintings - e.g. as e.g. giovanna did for her Twitter simbol - instead (of course, we have to be mindful about private property right issue here) as a theme for our DiverCity web page.

Dear all,
the graphic of the home page is very provisional. The urban skyline is the SSIIM one (used in SSIIM homepage and, in its black verison, in the SSIIM paper Series)... we will have to find out our Network's 'brand' including a LOGO

after we decide the definitive name of the network we might start thinking about it, either designing it by ourself (I could do it... anybody else with graphic-design skills and will?) or even OPEN A CALL FOR LOGO and spread it trhough Design faculties (we have one at our University) maybe with a small price for the winner (i.e. a 50 eur amazon bonus, or something else besides the honour of being our logo creator... ideas?)

I agree with Elena and Magda,
1-3-4 in private section, 2 in public
the calendar is a very good idea!
I'd like a sort of 'wall' (in the private part) where we can post questions (eg. 'I'm going to start work on subject X, does anyone have suggestions for literature?') and proposals for collaborative projects; maybe it could include a possibility to create 'threads' and to send private messages?
in the private section there could be a wall/list/... for recent articles, books, etc. on subjects that interests us, where everyone could post

just some ideas!

I agree with the tools you all are suggesting but I would like to add under the private section a tool that can enable us to post announcements. Like now at AUC we are offering summer short courses and would love to post it somewhere so the members of the network would know about it.
Under the public section, maybe there should be a link where we could post our publications. I agree with Jozefien that our emails should be kept private
